Super PhotoCut App Reviews

pinch-to-zoom

The app is relativ good, but it will be nice, if the app supports pinch-to-zoom and zoom to a specific part of the picture, and not only the center.

Does not even start properly

Big white square, no toolbar, no buttons. Sometimes you get two menus, sometimes more. Nothing works. Uninstalled, reinstalled: same thing. (Mountain Lion)

Not worth the money.

The concept is great but in reality it works on a very simple level. I tried to remove a blue sky from the background of an object and the app failed miserably. Further, the fine detail setting left blurred edges. I’ll keep looking for a better program.

Problem while save

Simple and useful awesome. Thanks for discount :)

simple - useful

until now it is the simplest application to remove the background of an image. no need to mess with photoshop or other complicated photo editing software. some minor tweaks would make the app much better.

NO WORKED

Crash in 10.11.1

Crashes on launch: Now fixed!

Will update my review and rating once I either get a refund or this gets resolved. Running OS10.10.5. Can’t even launch it without it crashing within about 3 seconds. I will say that tech support has responded so I’m hoping to get this resolved soon. Update: I emailed the developer and they responded very quckly to my crashing issue by seeding me a (presumably) beta version of the software so that now things work as expected. The app seems to work fairly well by intelligenty working with you at figuring out where the masking should take place on your image. You can fine tune your selection and the app will respond accordingly. As always, it works best with images with simpler backgrounds but, with fine tuning, I was able to issolate an image with a busy background after a few minutes.

crashes on launch on El Capitan

“App quit unexpectedly” on OS X 10.11.6 with all available Software Updates applied.

Doesnt work at any price!

Software does not function on Mac OS 10.8.5 system. All it does is open a blank window. Cannot see tools or even open image. Useless in current state.

Doesnt Work - Blank Screen

Like another reviewer, Im using 10.8.5 which is theoretically supported. If you open the program, you get a large white screen with no controls, no additional windows, no nothing. If you drag and drop a picture into this mysterious white area, it will import your photo - upside down and reversed. Still no controls of any kind appear. If you click the mouse and drag, you can paint ugly black lines on your upside down, reversed picture - although even at 99¢ this gets old pretty quickly. Seriously, theres something very wrong here. I really need the functionality this app promises, but it doesnt work AT ALL. Developer - please fix this ASAP!

Did not get far before crashing

Application opened up and crashed as soon as I tried to open an image for editing - it’s a “no” for me.

YouTube “Tutorial” is not what app does

Watching the very fast-talking and superficial YouTube video implies that you can click here to perform this and there to perform that, and none of it works well on my brand new MacBook Pro with the lastest OS X update. For instance, the “photo” icon button on the lower left of the right picture does not bring up a color wheel at all. The images zoom in and out seemingly without control, and they appear blurry when done. Nothing explains the pull-down menu that seems to have effects. I was used to editing pretty well with iPhoto, but wanted a better background removal. This works on some things, but not well on others. With the change to Photos on the Mac, I felt that I needed finer tuning. However, the few controls this app offers at the top don’t necessarily do what is shown in the tutorial. Perhaps it needs an update; but $20 is way too much for this flakey app.

Works Great and Best Support I have received in the App le Kingdom

Apple obviously supplies all forms of the greatest tools/entertainment/products on the planet. Even if they try and control everything a little bit hmmm too much. But like our controlling best friends we still love them. They are like a giant eco system that is ever changing and usually improving. POINT is —> Please remember that it can be challenging for us mere mortals to keep up with them and quickly change our code to work flawlessly within theirs. This App works great!! Yes it was having issues for a breif time. Had the developer not replied to me I would have waited a little longer and asked for a refund. These guys responded, listened, and even let me help them test (really i just made sure it was working on my imac and MBP) until it was even better than their first version. That is great support and personally I love that. I use photoshop and all its relatives for years and years and love them just below the love I have for my children:) However I also enjoy exploring standalone products, plugins, etc. Man sometimes A.D.D can be a pain when it comes to writing. My point of all this is this application works fantastic and from talking with them I know it will keep improving. 200 words or less is all customers read…my fault I thought it said 2000….. I don’t write reviews for good reason. Buy the app if you need to remove backgrounds quickly and percisely. And if you are one of thos people that get hyper focused and could spend an hour making an image perfect while you are really not making the best use of your time….this a time saver!!! I would plug some of my websites right here so you could see the work it did on many images but that would be lame and Bill Burr would make fun of me if he knew I existed. BWStudio

Not Bad...

I used for the first time yesterday. The background was for the most part removed, but I still have to do some work to remove the entire background. However, much faster and cleaner than photoshop (at least a photoshop novice).

great app

I notice that now cropping photos are even more easier than ever.

Quit unexpectedly

Don’t buy it !!!! Quit unexpectedly every single time I tried.

Wow!!! This app is incredible. :-)

I’ve been wanting an app like this for a very very loooooooong time! I’ve used Photoshop Elements, Acorn, ON1, Bling! It, and an online service for cutting out images of products for our ecommerce website. Up till now cutting out images has always been a painstaking measure of frustration, wasted time, and expense. Never before has cutting out images been so effortless and spot-on perfect! This app rocks - seriously! It blew my mind the first time I dropped an image into Super PhotoCut and saw a perfectly cut out image instantly appear. I am LOVING this little tool. I foresee using it like crazy in the weeks, months, and years to come. It’s about time something this slick came to the Mac! Thank you!!!

I wish Adobe would buy these guys and integrate this into Photoshop.

While the app doesn’t always remove everything I want, it’s a giant head start when removing objects. I’ll then take it into photoshop for minor edits. I can imagine begin frustrated if I didn’t have photoshop to do smaller edits to manually remove certain parts without the algorithm attempting to do moreg guesswork. For my use, this app is amazing.

Really Magical

I’m not a great photoshop user, but I found Super Photocut extremely easy to use, even for me as a novice. A few minutes and I wind up with a professional quality image that I can use easily. Really worth the money. Don’t delay or doubt.

Waste of Money

The app freezes and locks up the whole time. You can move the subject image to the overlay photo. Very difficult to navigate around. Save yourself the agravation and find another app. Waste of $14.95! Why is it so difficult to get a refund?
